Client Testimonial

"This is the 2nd time I have used Duralife" "I wanted to replace rotten single glazed timber windows and an old wooden bi fold door that was draughty and didn’t seal. I considered both Timber and Aluminium replacements but the Flush Evolution was very practical and I liked the profile it was so similar to Timber. Since the installation there has been a noticeable difference in the heat due to the improved insulation. DuraLife had been initially recommended when I used them at a previous property, so this is the second time they have installed windows and doors for me. I have to say I find the fitters are exceptional."

  • Project Description:

    Windows

Powder coat finish, maintenance free, thermally insulated “Classic-al” kitemarked aluminium windows, complete with projecting sills.

The “B” energy rated windows in a gloss white finish inside and out, combined the slim sightlines of aluminium and the insulating properties of a new Polyamide thermally broken system together with additional outer frame insulation.

Aluminium enhanced the look of this property with its attractive slim sightlines, kitemarked ovollo outer frames, mullions, transoms and casements, creating a superb finish.

Black, white/gold/silver effect finish locking handles, complimented by a high security “Saracen” shoot bolt lock to all openers, which also incorporated a secure secondary venting position allowing the windows to be open but locked securely in an open position.

All side casement openers came complete with 90 degree easy clean/fire escape friction hinges. Opening windows came complete with security stay guards fitting to the hinge side of the casement openers and outer frames thereby protecting from forced entry.

To equalise glass sightlines, all fixed panes came complete with dummy sashes. “Classic-al” represents a new era in the development of aluminium windows, combining the traditional appeal of timber with the trusted performance of aluminium. Softened lines of the profile give a really classic look and an extremely elegant product that comes, not only with kitemarks for weathering and security, but also with full Secured by Design accreditation to give you total peace of mind. The obvious benefit of “Classic-al” aluminium windows however lies in its inherent strength and durability compared to other window materials. There’s no need for the extra reinforcing that its PVC-U counterpart requires, and all the sections are so much slimmer.

Supplied and installed a set of high security/high specification Crown, thermally insulated 2 paned, aluminium sliding patio doors in white powder coat paint finish inside and out, complete with projecting sill, low threshold detail and a high security locking system.

The patio doors came with multi chamber aluminium profiles for strength and improved thermal polyamide performance, six point stainless steel hook lock, the latest high security cylinders as standard and stainless steel track and wheels for easy glide operation.

    Aluminium bi-folding doors.

Supply and install a set of maintenance free, thermally insulated aluminium bi-folding doors in a white finish inside and out, complete with low threshold detail. The aluminium frame system contained a unique polyamide thermal break for increased insulation.

The three paned bi-folding doors stacked externally and to the right hand side viewed from outside and came complete with one workable door and a further two folding sections. They also came fitted with a magnetic catch to stop door leaf clashing against the handle.

The bi-folding doors were of the new 1000 system series offering very slim attractive sight lines as seen in our showroom.

All aluminium windows and bi-folding/patio doors were glazed with High Performance Planitherm Softcoat, 28mm double glazed, hermetically sealed units incorporating Diamant Low Iron glass and manufactured in accordance with the new Kitemark Licence to the latest EN 1279 standard, BS EN ISO 9002: 1994 & BS EN 1279 part 2: 2002.

Toughened safety glass was fitted to patio doors and low level glazing.

All sealed units were complete with black Swiss “V” warmedge spacer bars and argon gas filling.
The completed installation achieved a severe exposure weather rating and came complete with a ten year Insurance Backed guarantee.
